#Nostr frens, I am excited to launch the #NYM shop! This allows you to purchase add-on packs to enhance your style and flair across all channels. For ephemeral users, you receive a payment code that allows new sessions on the same device to restore a purchase and for persistent identities (if you logged in) it'll sync your purchases on Nostr. Check it out in the GIF below, and check it out now in the NYM app through the shop button in menu: image

What other means of making the app profitable do you have in mind? Have you ever thought about zaps for new features besides customization?j
Hard to say! I have some ideas, but not sure yet their feasibility. For new features do you mean charging for some new functionality that would normally be locked?
Would you be willing to charge any amount to get a code issue prioritized? Or for contributors who donate money or code to earn some kind of 'badge' in the app?
Donations typically go without the donator receiving anything in return. The items in the shop are tangible and change how your messages appear to others.

If someone wanted a new function in Nym, such as a gif button, they would zaps for the new feature, so they would know which feature is most desired by users and makes the effort profitable.
Until Obama or someone makes a version with its own store with its own message appearance stuff, and people are still used to the idea of just paying for products marketed to them without ensuring the creators are the ones getting the payment
I'm not talking about a specific issue 😂 But so that anyone who wants to raise a problem that bothers them more, or a change to their liking, can more directly have their request more visible or prioritized (some video sites like Twitch and YouTube prioritize comments with donations).
To be clearer, I have a very simple issue in another project, a game, that would solve a small translation problem, but I believe more than a month has passed, nobody has tried to solve it, and my request has been forgotten. I see that the same thing happens in many codebases. If I could prioritize my request with a donation (or with a payment that would only be processed if the request was fulfilled), I could accelerate the project's improvement for my benefit, the project's benefit, and the benefit of the developer who fulfilled the request.

Nym is similar to Bitchat in many ways, such as chats and ephemeral identities, but has other functions that Bitchat has not implemented, such as sending images in chats and a sidebar that shows where there is activity. I think Bitchat is more focused on chat #mesh.
