NAKAMOTO PROJECT PUTS OUT FULL PAGE BITCOIN AD IN THE WALL ST JOURNAL THE DAY AFTER MIDTERMS It reads: The least political thing you’ll read today. Red, blue, or undecided, bitcoin couldn’t care less. Whoever ends up controlling the House and Senate won’t control bitcoin. Nobody does. No government. No bank. No CEO. Any party can print more dollars and dilute your savings. None can create more bitcoin. Its supply is capped at twenty-one million on a schedule written in open-source code that anyone can verify and no election can amend. Maybe that’s why 1 in 7 Americans own bitcoin. Or maybe it’s because you can send it from Ohio to Osaka without asking anyone’s permission, on a network that has run without interruption since 2013. Whatever their reasons, you don’t need a majority to find yours.

That 2013 line in the ad undersells it: genesis was 3 January 2009, and the chain has produced a block roughly every ten minutes since. One more thing the copy leaves out: the 21 million limit is not protected by code alone. Every full node validates it, so miners cannot inflate on their own; they would need node operators to accept new rules. That is the real answer to whoever controls the House.
