Beginning my journey in self-defense. Purchased a Sig Xmacro and am trying to learn the fundamentals. After a few outings, my groupings have improved, but I am still shooting low and to the left often. #RulesForReset #Gunstr

Yes. I just started shooting a pistol a few days ago. I’ve been trying to learn the basics on YouTube. Did a little bit of dry firing between my first and second trips to the range. Seems like it helped a good amount. I’ll keep it up. Any good tips or videos for dry fire drills to practice?

Ben Stoeger has some great videos on fundamentals and dry fire. The main thing is keep it up and find what works for you. Almost everyone recommends a polymer pistol with a red dot to start.

By all means learn irons, but red dots are a faster, easier and proven. Upgrade when you can Lucas also has good tips
Thanks for sending those over. Do you use a red dot on your concealed carry pistol? If so, and you don’t mind sharing, what pistol and red dot do you carry?

I use a Holosun EPS on a glock g17 for carry. I would recommend a g19 or g47 in hindsight.
