One such insight is we cannot separate the ideal from practical reality: we must practice what we believe in.
It's why I love how they emphasize daily practice to strengthen one's virtue.
A practice I really enjoy is experimenting and experiencing discomfort. For instance, taking a slightly colder shower to appreciate what one has, to skip on a bad habit instead of indulging, to walk to the local store instead of relying on a car.
You realize that happiness doesn't come from externals of comfort but rather on being accepting of circumstances and moving beyond. Being mountain-like.
