I am not a bitcoiner then, the public record is already scrutinized whether its the blockchain or your bank account and yet life goes on.
I just sent you $10, I don't know why. probably just to prove you wrong because all this talk of privacy on nostr and the internet is becoming tiring to me.
I hear so many others talk about privacy as if its the end goal of life, as if the goal of being a bitcoiner ( using bitcoin ) is to be so private the the world knows nothing about you.
Privacy is a necessity but it seems so many bitcoiners worship it to the point of wanting to completely disconnect and disappear from the world at large. and I don't like that, or at least I'm getting tired of it ๐

Using bitcoin is not private. Using lightning is a step forward, and then two steps back when publishing a public zap.
Privacy is something many have become apathetic to. Just like social media. But this is nostr, we are here because we have not given up on things that we think are important despite all the headwinds.
As for monetary transactions and pseudo-privacy, look at how Venmo is used. How many people post a public facebook message "I sent my friend 1000$ for stuff!". They don't. Venmo started out like this, and realized people didn't want that. These aren't even bitcoiners. It's not even a privacy thing, it's just simple logic. When I give someone money, why would I announce it to the world if I don't have to? So that a company can boost their "stats"? All I care about is that my friend knows who sent it.
Your $10 gesture is irrelevant, a distraction from the fact that Visa, Mastercard, and banks like JPMorgan track every transaction, fueling the surveillance state.
