LFG!
What is this?
πππ wowwww
This is sorcery. π§
Can I try it now
Nuts
It's not a real USD peg though is it ? It just displays sats in more Normie friendly denomination.
What I noticed playing with mints - too many buttons to press. Opening cashu.me should add a mint automatically. In your vid, scanning the payment should led to automatic reception - delete the extra step / receive button. But I could be wrongβ¦
Auto mint selection is a dangerous idea. The developer then may harbor responsibility of the mint's future behavior. A pop-up indicating that the mint is not associated with the wallet may need to be displayed and require user acceptance.
My literal dreams coming true.
This is pegged
Well done!! ππ»ππ»ππ»
Wow. Stablesats/synthetic USD is a game changer. lightning might be growing on me now
smells like freedom
I have no idea how this works but I want to learn π
I'm slowly starting to come around to ecash. We just need the UX to get better and I can foresee this working and helping a lot of people.

Is this what the kids online call βbasedβ?
So this is another middleman. Its not bitcoin anymore. Its something else but not bitcoin. Bitcoin is suppose to be use without a third party or any one else.

Is it tied to a short position like "synthetic sats?"
But how is it pegged?
Also, an important factor for those that want USD "stability" instead of sats, is interconnectedness to the banking system.
The usual question about Bitcoin (at least from my circle) is "ok, how can I buy stuff with this?". For example, a Visa card you top-up with BItcoin makes more sense. You can pay almost anywhere in the world, with your Bitcoin.
Stablesats do not offer this interoperability, they only provide a USD peg. So you hold USD value but can only send it over BTC/LN. Still useful I guess, for those that live in Bitcoin countries like El Salvador.
I know that in the end, all those will converge, and LN/Cashu will replace (or used in conjunction with) Visa/Mastercard. I can't wait to see how this plays out.
So fast
So are ETFs, Bitcoin-backed "shitcoins," Liquid; that ship has sailed. On the other hand, eCash offers privacy and fungibility.
Awesome π₯ Do you have a writeup of how this works? Stablechannels?
