I took the journey all the way to the World Bank HQ after work today. I made it to chapter 9 of Hidden Repression by @gladstein as I walked up, just in time to read “The Development Set” poem by Ross Coggins. It’s hitting a little differently now. 🤯

I was literally buckled up listening in the car. My wife is from Philippines so I had her listen to the part about Ferdinand Marcos. She remembers the curfew and martial law, but said that people loved him, even though that’s probably why her Dad moved to the states.
