I've found that I'm okay with just missing stuff. It feels a lot like "living in the moment." I generally just scroll through the newest notes while I'm on and then dip. As a result, the amount of time it takes up is more limited. The platforms would queue things in such a way that I'd stay on longer. To be fair, that was my own lack of discipline. But they also dial in on parts of our humanity that make it maximally difficult to walk away. The discipline bar is a lot lower for me with how I use Nostr.

After using Nostr for a long time, I found that we don't actually need algorithmic recommendations. The chronological display of content makes people feel relaxed. When all the apps in the world are full of algorithmic recommendations, we actually have no shortage of good content. In the era of information explosion, we don't need so much content either. What we lack is pure trust and sincere exchange of ideas between people. Good content will be recommended and forwarded by trusted people, and Zap is the best way to reward it. And those who can join Nostr are already the best people selected by Bitcoin and Freedom ideas. The longer I am in Nostr, the more I love #Nostr ๐Ÿซ‚๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿค™

My approach isn't for everyone. I see value in algorithm-like functionality on Nostr. I'm just happy without it at the moment. But I've also built a pretty decent base here after several years. It took curating and real effort on my part. And I'm not finished. I can see how algorithm-like functionality could make it more efficient
