What has @ODELL proposed that would meet this arbitrary standard? Everyone who cares about Bitcoin at the level most of us do will have differing opinions at some point. And your proposed ideal could end up being the damage you're worried about.

I remember seeing Odell on rabbit hole recap with Ben Carmen saying we should just upgrade to core 30 or whatever it was at the time -we should just remove the limit on OP_RETURN because they can already do it
Open sats has funded core developers that have been pushing for these changes.
