Ver didn't say the hijack had anything to do with Epstein in this book as I remember it.
Interesting!
I tried to listen to the “other side” with Aaron Day on Coffee and a Mike, and I just don’t see it. They are just narrative building selectively and the Epstein emails are convenient for them to say bitcoin was “hijacked”… when really Ver and his cronies were the ones trying to change the protocol to benefit their own greedy corporate interests. But their reason is “oh it was to make bitcoin faster for its true purpose as money” bulllllllshit, it was to try to enrich yourselves and centralize control
Ver is a scammer, but framing Ver as doing incredible amount of damage to bitcoin is also wrong. Ver did an incredible amount of damage to a narrative by deceiving people about bitcoin vs. bcash, but he never damaged bitcoin itself. Bitcoin keeps ticking along just fine.
Blockstream, was it? I know he talked about how nasty Blockstream and others censored those who wanted to follow Satoshi's advice, which was for BTC to scale.
I love Francis view of Bitcoin. I'm not ready to go all the way to defend the network but I'm working on it.
