I've finally built my own node.
Very excited, finally finished syncing the chain. Had to power it off to put on a thermal pad id stupidly forgotten (had a fan over it the whole time it was syncing ha)
Now it's taking a very long time to boot back up, is this normal? I'm using my node community on a pi5

Did you power of via menu or just plugged out?😅
Menu yes, then the interface stopped loading up so I went on and unplugged it then, lights hadn't stopped but it was taking a while and I wasn't sure if it was finished or not and really wanted that pad put on lol prob wasn't the greatest idea but it seemed to be taking a long time, since then it just shows that it's starting services on the web interface never getting to the app menu
Just this for almost 2 hours now lol

Yeah, but how did you power off?
Maybe there s something broken in your data bases
Used the menu, Im just not sure if it 100% powered down or not, the lights on the pi were still on but I was no longer able to log onto it. Gave it some time and unplugged.
Your prob right, I gotta learn to have more patience is likely my problem ha.
Does this help at all? Rolling forward blocks? Is it just checking what I have downloaded? Not sure what's going on in startup status..

Patience, fren 🫂
Ok awesome thank you so much. Glad I didn't inadvertently ruin something haha
At least we ve found out that it seems your issue is known, though this is from a few years ago.
Syncing and maintenance can take a lot of time and I d personally recommend #Raspiblitz or #Umbrel for beginners.
I would wait for a few days and if it's still not working I d start from scratch again.
When the chain is synced, you might like to do a backup of your synced blockchain just in case or set up a second node anyway.
