I was going to self-host my "podcast" (and I may still in the future), but for now I think I'll admit defeat and use a provider.

What is a podcast host please? You mean setting up an RSS-feed?
A service that hosts the audio files and provides an RSS feed.
I ended up self-hosting from my website using a Wordpress plugin from Castos.
