I compiled a short article about what I hacked together at this @Sovereign Engineering cohort. ๐Ÿ‘‡ Tldr: we can deliver OSM-sourced maps from blossom almost trivially without servers. This enables us to have self hosted maps tiles of the whole planet up to z9 or z10 or have smaller map cutouts down to z15. There is a demo of combined maps where four blossom hosted map quadrants are stitched together being consumed as one. This is achieved by taking the current map center, looking up a set bounds to blossom urls and delegating the range request to the appropriate map source. The next step is to chunk up the 120gb planet.pmtiles into discreet, blossom consumable parts, map each to its corresponding geohash with a certain depth and theoretically we should be able to serve the planet from blossom. I remember when google/osm were first shfting to vector maps and the insane reduction in size. Please do that if possible.
