What people forget is that Taproot did not cause this. Data can already be stored in standard P2WSH using OP_POP.

Yep, i realise taproot wasn’t the cause. Just not sure it was necessary
This however requires multiple UTXO spends. If anything, Taproot prevents the UTXO bloat that this would cause.
There’s also the option of paying to bare multisigs.
