Nostr is amazing as an identity system.

So when you say “nostr is amazing” you really just mean that keypairs are amazing?
Key based identity and signed events.
Yes, but also I have not seen anything better as interoperable transport.
Worse is better?
I mean, http, quic, plenty depending on your use case. But for certain things nostr transport can also work fine
For some things left curve is real. For many others we just overly complicate things for little to no benefit.
What do you mean by a "transport mechanism"?

I implemented nostr over http. It doesn't work well enough. Quic doesn't work even with the reference implementations.. and it's gigantic.
In some sense though it works as an identity system because of its transport system.
PGP has been here for decades and didn't build out the WoT it could have because at the end of the day memes make the world go round.
I2P is amazing as transport mechanism

nostr is NOT N NEVER for NORMIES
DEVs can BARK all day all year
I agree with that. The identity would not be worth anything without the network.
I’ve used quic on a few things now. Always seems to work well for me. What issues were you seeing with it?
I mean the websocket layer of talking to relays and just how dumb relays are. It’s a double edged sword of course. Simplicity makes it easy for adoption. It also becomes a limiting factor for now much you can do with the protocol.
...what?
I believe you must be confused.
