So government really hates its people. I think it's more profitable to keep them sick not dead. As for purpose, block the critical thinking in them. Anyway, it's better to get dirty and check for yourself.

A little digging and you should be able to find soil sampling studies carried out in USA that demonstrated elevated elemental levels. Sorry, no links, I stopped looking into this around 2007
