I got to spend the day filming with world record holding swimmer Dean Hall, who was given a death sentence in the form of two types of stage four cancer and decided that he was going to beat it without radiation or chemo.
He started swimming and became the first person to swim the entire length of the Willamette river, 185 miles in 22 days.
He spent time in nature, touched the Earth and camped in the forest in his hammock.
Doctors don’t have an explanation for how he survived.
His story is a potent example of the healing power of nature. Unfortunately, he’s not on Nostr yet but hopefully soon!

Sounds like a pretty rad dude
What a beast. Most people would crawl up in a ball and die receiving that kind of news. The winning mindset is a powerful thing, what an inspiration. 🎖️
No doubt about it, I’ll have him on the podcast for an interview at some point. Thanks for checking it out
Any details on if/how he changed his diet?
Good question, I’ll ask him but I don’t think he changed his diet drastically. Will report back on that because I don’t recall
He jokingly says he didn’t want to die on the couch watching wheel of fortune. Big inspiration for me for sure, cold exposure is part of it but more broadly just connecting with nature
