English-speakers keep sending me this stuff because they don't realize that this has always been the law, in postwar Germany.
We are, after all, still occupied by the Americans, and they wrote the Basic Law.

What we do not have is *censorship*, i.e. the government limiting your ability to write or say what you want. What we do have is *retroactive damages*, if what you say was unfounded defation, meant to incite violence, etc.
I didn't think it would be news to you lol. I just thought it was a curious segment, especially for the US audience. Feels like there's a movement to make a US audience used to it maybe.

The enforcement is being increased though and current tech allows for much broader searches for "illegal speech". All that support for these measures is manufactured by state-sponsored NGOs like HateAid. Despicable. You're right on the spot w/r/t the basics of our laws.
