I have long observed that many people in society are either unable or maybe simply unwilling to indulge in concepts that do not have names. If it doesn’t have a name — one that has been approved by the tribe, of course — then it’s not a “real” thing. Or so the thinking goes.

original sin doctrine, replicated into almost every domain of modern human society. this is why normies are so easy to manipulate. and why i think that human genetics and epigenetics code a small portion of the population to be like us - instead of aversive to the unknown, we are compelled to get closer, push buttons, and ask questions.
doesn't make for a vibrant social life but how could you want that when you understand how stilted and confined that is?
