#Artstr Art club is now open!! Thanks to #[2]​ for the ‘Texture theme’ Here is a piece of work I called ‘ Omaha’ is textured with wood, Silver dish mirror , chicken wire and black vandal paint. The work is inspired by data centers around the U.S harvesting your data. The aerial view of the gives the sense of looking down onto the map of the center, the wire is not letting you get took close or access your data. The mirror let’s you look back at yourself like looking at yourself as the product. I had silk moths as a child. I also find them more mystical and ghostly with their muted colours. I paint them often and they are recurrent in my songs. Here me as a moth
I hope to film them for a music video, I got a tiny light box and they should be about to emerge.
One of my first. Went rather raw with the acrylic paint. Added more texture with masking tape on the headband, facemask and garment. Inspired by antique African tribe sculptures. #artstr #texture image

You have to try this stuff! Go to an art store and ask about it. I forget the name. But if you're looking for more texture in your paintings they have this stuff you paint on, it comes in different grain sizes and textures, but you let it dry then you print on that and it makes textures like big wood bark, or small wood grain, or kind of like concrete. Also different brushes can make all sorts of different brush strokes of you go back over wet stuff with. Clean brushes🤷🏽

Thank you 🙂 I'm liking the wide wide lens on my phone. I tried this with the super long too, tried to get a good macro looking shot with the super shallow depth of field, but the sharpness is out of wack on that lens for some reason. It needs to calm the fuck down.

Mhh.. I think I still need to grow and try to find a good Work-Art balance and new inspiration to grow . But one day ..I want to exhibit.
I name a lot of surreal romance, dreamy line between comedy and nightmare where metaphors and such are taken too literally. I took this video thinking I could recreate it in a film with a purpose. Here it was just cool looking on the wall while I was working bartending. But a moment for belated memory and creative inspiration. Perfect for the "texture" theme a couple weeks ago.
I like how you think about texture in that way. I was a barman for a fair few years whilst setting up my art gallery. Wouldn’t change the experiences for anything else. So much fun.
I'm very visual🤷🏽 I take a lot of pictures of my own or screenshot stuff from the web as ideas and mood boards for projects later. I also steal a lot from my dreams. I think that's why I get paid for music videos so much because I have very vivid weird dreams and often I'll just take a weird dream I had and give it up that way. People are like ooh freaky fun! But for my more serious projects. Like I make narrative surreal films not just music videos. For those I try to take these images I have in my head, it small scenes, and I just stick em in different places and try to write the stuff in-between one and the other. Make em connect somehow. I'm working on this big idea about starcrossed lovers, a man and v someone who may be real or may be a different of his imagination. So far it's like 10 dreams I've had plus I'm straight up mixing the story of the major arcana in the tarot, Jung's interpretation of shadow work as alchemy turning excrement into gold, and a big big twist ending I've had the idea for for a long time after watching this Iranian film called the Mirror 🤷🏽
It's been living in my head for a long time. I need to get it on paper first. But it's hard when you're the only one putting deadlines on yourself🤷🏽 When I'm doing a music video and they're like ok I need the idea by Friday. I'm like oh shit and I get that shit done. But when I'm my boss. I'm over here working on it. Then on my website. Then I'm chatting with y'all.
