OK - this is indeed just a bot telling you that the link included a ref tag - people using the link may prefer to have one without the ref tag so that the receiving website does not know where the link originated (privacy!)

Yes, but how exactly does it work? Because all I am seeing currently are his posts about some random link being cleaned. Are those bot replies to somebody or is he just posting what he removed somewhere else?
