Working on Vega, nostr client for Windows, Linux and Mac, with podcast player and V4V streaming, integrated ZAPing, boommarks, messages etc. https://veganostr.com
Vega v0.15.1 is out What was new in this release: - Network proxy (HTTP and SOCKS5), including Tor. A new section in Settings routes Vega's traffic — relay connections, uploads, and update checks, through a proxy. Contributed by Anderseta . Note: the proxy routes your traffic, but DNS may still resolve locally, so relay hostnames can leak. Full DNS privacy is not guaranteed yet . - Desktop notifications when a DM arrives - The message and quote composers grow as you type instead of being fixed two- and three-line boxes. - A tidier Messages sidebar: starting a new conversation is now a "New message" link rather than a permanent field and button sitting next to Send. - Remote signer (NIP-46) login now works with spec-compliant bunkers - Fixed the Support view crash. Opening the Support view showed a blank "Vega crashed" screen. This affected every release build since v0.13.2, and it now opens correctly. and a few other things you can find in
Looking at my of behaviour and that of many others, I have come to the conclusion that passion is often overrated and simple hard work is underrated. I've always somehow valued passion more that hard work - and completely without any proof. I'm talking years and years lost. In my head passion was somehow seen as 'pure' as 'inspirational' and 'rare' and therefore valuable, and hard work I've just seen as 'work which anyone can do anyway'. Oh boy was I wrong.
I jut saw a Youtube title of the month: "Frogan has eaten her legal fund!" 😂😂😂
Pro Iranian end-of-the-world islamist dicatorship simp spammers ...are out in force again . Ufff. that was hard to say with one breath - for multuple reasons
Podcast subscriptions in Vega are now linked with your nostr account. Would anyone with a MacOS be willing to test if Vega is working ok on Mac please? I unfortunately can't test it since I don't own an Apple computer. I'd be interested to also hear if there's any problems on any of the Linux distros. All I could do is test Windows versions and Arch which I use, btw ;) #askNostr More details are on the website and even more on my github page at Vega is of course free libre open source project. PS: If you like it, I wouldn't mind a star on github. If you don't please tell me what should be improved. View article →
Vega desktop client 0.12.13 - what shipped this month: Six releases between v0.12.8 and v0.12.13: - **Linux memory crash fixed** (v0.12.8). Traced an OOM regression to the Blossom URL auto-detection regex; memory now peaks around 1.5 GB instead of 8–12 GB. - **Web of Trust everywhere** (v0.12.9). WoT filtering extended from the global feed to following + trending, reaction pills, and zap totals. Zaps are filtered by the inner zapper's pubkey, not the LNURL service. - **Security update** (v0.12.10). Tauri 2.10 → 2.11.1 (Origin Confusion IPC fix), rustls-webpki, dompurify, postcss. - **Read-only mode polished** (v0.12.11). Visitors without a key (or signed in with just an `npub`) no longer see broken Publish buttons. Write surfaces are guarded throughout; sidebar hides account-bound views until you sign in. - **Podcast subscriptions sync via Nostr** (v0.12.12). "My Podcasts" is now published as a NIP-51 kind 30003 bookmark set keyed to your pubkey — your show list follows your account across devices. Latest: v0.12.13. Linux + Windows auto-update. Arch via `yay -S vega-nostr-git`. DOWNLOAD FOR MAC, WINDOWS and LINUX: Website: Long article is here: View article →
