Depends on the relay. For instance, if you set up your own HAVEN relay, it you can have it automatically import your existing notes. If you run a Citrine relay on your phone, you can have it fetch your existing notes. If you are just connecting to a new relay run by someone else, it almost certainly will NOT fetch your existing notes. You would need to manually broadcast your existing notes to that relay.
