Could you explain what ‘Pokey’ actually is? The announcement assumes everyone knows the term, but there’s no obvious documentation. Does it rely on a persistent background service, polling, or some alternative to FCM? I’d also like to understand the battery impact and how it behaves when the app is fully stopped.
Just some questions please: That’s only half the picture. Keeping WebSocket connections open explains how events arrive, not how Android allows that to run reliably in the background. Is Pokey a foreground service? Does it survive Doze mode?
