The thing about #nostr is… I don’t know how, but I’m automatically using all other social media less and less. Even though that’s not great for me as an artist,I live from making art, and I honestly can’t remember the last time I posted an art sale thread on #instagram I don’t even scroll anymore to keep the algorithm flowing or to chase attention. But it feels good. It just feels good being mostly on Nostr, and I don’t even care. I don’t know why… maybe it’s the power of quality over quantity. Or maybe it’s because the people I know from real life are on Nostr with me #social #sociallife #freedom

I've been finding it harder to stay on nostr for more than a few minutes lately. Activity getting too low, have to scroll through about 100 spam posts for every real human post like this. Thanks for continuing to post
I don't follow anyone, I just scroll the global feeds. I also check the profiles of certain people, but they also seem less active lately, or it's just that they can't make up for everyone else
I don't like managing a Twitter style follow list. Need nostr to either evolve into an app with a follow list I want to use, or get Digit on it so I can just follow her and branch out from there without worrying about stuff like who will or won't follow me back
Global feed will always feel like spam. But once you follow a handful of real people, Nostr suddenly becomes super clean. It’s not about more users, it’s about curating your own signal 😉
It was easier to scroll through the spam for real posts when there was more activity, and in the long run it will only be solved when the nostr dev crew stops being too lazy to implement spam filters
More activity actually means more spam on open protocols. And #nostrdevs can’t just add a global filter, every client and relay handles that differently. Best move is to build your own Following feed. That’s where Nostr really works, you are the power 💪 image
Nah, the spam ratio is definitely the other way around on nostr so far. The more user activity there is, the more it drowns out the spammers. And good filters won't be "global filters," they'll be spam filters. Tools users can use to effectively filter spam. The sooner we get those, the sooner nostr could really take off. It definitely would not be a good move for me to start following people right now. Nostr is basically the future of the internet, but currently serves as a less centralized Twitter clone with no Digit. Letting my usage be influenced by the Twitter clone model would just waste the long term path of helping nostr get good
