If you absolutely need to use Facebook on your phone for whatever reason, make sure you use it only through a progressive web app. That way, if you're using the site through, say, Brave, they can't do anything and you're also blocking a solid chunk of their tracking in the process. The better solution would be to find alternatives. If you want a Facebook style social network that doesn't exploit you for everything you've got, definitely check out MeWe. It's like a combination of Facebook features and Twitter features. They don't harvest or sell your data, they even give a privacy bill of rights to dictate how their corporate policy handles your data.

Wow. I didn't realize that people were still use MeWe. I experimented with it when it first came out, but the activity slowly died out so I stopped checking in. I might have to find my old credentials and see if activity has picked up at all.
Yeah, MeWe went through a rough patch for a bit but there's a new CEO who has absolutely breathed new life into the platform! He has really gotten in the trenches with everyone, engages with the community and is pushing for some really awesome concepts for the future!
That's great news. I know the original set of members expressed some concerns about the original privacy terms being quietly updated and made less private. Has the new CEO addressed some of these concerns?
Yes, he has doubled down on both privacy and free speech, saying that he firmly believes those two facets are what make MeWe unique. We still have a privacy bill of rights for all users, which does a good job of summarizing the privacy policy!
