All the time I was teaching that quote hung over me like a massive weight… since quitting I’ve picked up a good 40 or more engineering/programming credits on actual records and I’ve rarely explained the process since.
It’s funny, I never even applied for the teaching job (at a uni), I covered 1 term and kept getting asked back. Get paid way less per hour now but generally less anxiety.
Am getting a bit porky though so maybe I’ll go for a PE job.
