This is great, but there are two things missing in the comparison: calls (audio, video) and sending of audio messages. These functions are becoming more prominent than plain text messages and, effectively, should be considered at least on equal terms when assessing functional security and privacy of messenger apps.

Good point. I've seen more people doing this IRL. I've gotten an audio response from someone before. It's rare, but seems to be growing in popularity
Yeah. BTW many chat apps use WebRTC for voice and video calls.
Yes, mostof them relay on WebRTC, though there's now Keet that users holepunching for this. I'd really like to see this being worked on as it is a serverless way to comms.
