Some hard rock mines can produce more than one metal depending on the ore and processing. A secondary metal, like molybdenum, can be recovered downstream of a primary metal like copper.
I’m bullish that in the future some mines will make use of energy and processes on site that help mine Bitcoin. There’s lots of heat and moving pieces that could be harnessed to do so.

Some low hanging fruit would include:
Water sources. Reclaim, anything needing 24/7 source. Use pumped water to power or use power for pumps to power miners.
Downward open channel slurry flow. Put a paddlewheel type setup and use kinetic energy of slurry to power miners.
Using miners to produce heat for processes that are heat dependent. This also includes personnel facilities (buildings and living quarters).
Miners can also incentivize the need keep maintenance preventative and short depending on mine plans and cycles.
