You're right, it's a recent development. I'd say it started just over ten years ago. So much polarisation now. I just find it strange that it seems to be only one side pushing an agenda so hard they alienate people. Everyone political has agendas. But only one side is so devout in their beliefs that they excommunicate people who don't buy into every piece of dogma. I hear a lot about how politics is going more right, and all I can think is "people are actually surprised by this?"
