I think its fine as an option to use USD if someone really wants to but I hate the forced no other option.

I was being hyperbolic. Ditto utilizes your nostr keys, as an on chain wallet, so they kinda made it default/less friction. And one part was using USD denomination. I'm sure an option will be there soon, even if USD is default @Alex Gleason

I'm not so sure this has to do with the on-chain wallet, it was already in the app a while ago and the lightning zaps were still in sats at the time. However yes hopefully there will be other units I can choose from soon.

I'd prefer if it was a toggle. I'd even be fine with USD the standard and then we can enable sats in an advanced setting. I don't mind catering to normies but we can't forget our roots!
