I get news from many different sources, and depending on how important it is or how big claim is i verify on the source. I get news from nostr, from x, from reddit from news portals that i follow, from other social networks etc. I don't really care where news came from because larger the clam, more i verify it closer to the source.
For example, when someone says that Russian economy is in problems, i go to official Russian Central Bank web site and read at their report and i can see that claim is a true. They are burning their fat and are basically cooked.
If someone claims that Ukraine attacked Russia first i go on to internet and i search for Ukrainian tanks and APC's crossing Russian borders (vides, photos, reports from Russian side, reports from Ukrainian side etc), than i search for other side and i compare dates and i see that Russia attacked Ukraine first etc.
I don't use news as source of absolute truth, no matter where they come from i use them as source of idea what to explore and what information to search for.
Of course, if some sources continuously show themselves to be truthful i will follow them more than other and again depending on how serious clam is will more or less check on the source.
