Until we reach a Star Trek–like future with abundant energy and resources, there can be no true separation of money and state. There never was, and there never will be, as long as money exists. The best we can do ,and what we’re slowly doing ,is build an anchor that prevents the system from drifting too far. As money moved into the digital domain and change accelerated, gold stopped being enough. That’s where Bitcoin comes in. Bitcoin can’t separate money from the state, but it can make the system a bit more honest ,not completely, not even close, and serve as a safety net for the people.
