All property taxes are a form of slavery to the state. We can pay off a bank mortgage to get the deed, but perpetually rent from the government

Actually, the state is holding the deed, which is part of how they justify property tax.
What people pay a mortgage on is "color of title". They are buying "real estate", and not property, or land.
