You see, what @semisol disingenuously calls "shadowbanning" is simply an inability to show up on Primal's trending list. That's all. Visibility of these users is not restricted in any other way. @semisol knows this, and his use of this framing indicates that he is not engaging in good faith. I totally agree with your point that it should be easy to check which npubs are filtered, and be able to override that. We are building those tools as we speak.

Ah I see, I agree that is not shadowbanning. Else the entire nostr community is shadowbanned if they aren't in the top 10 trending list which is silly. I'm glad to see you don't actually reduce visibility of users in any other way. Having filter lists that are knowable and check-able would be brilliant, keeps everything open and clear.

Not sure about that. People I have followed people on twitter who have been shadowbanned in my following list. Not just recommendations. (do people concerned about either privacy or manipulative algorithms bother with the 'recommended' streams on twitter anyway ?)

The fuss is I used to be my authentic self and that’s not for most people. I’ve unfortunately had to censor myself quite a bit since I started here, as well as have nostr censor me in many ways. Not that I have to censor anything, nor should, but I’ve toned down because I actually respect some of this #community and some of you #plebs #plebchain. I’m not trying to make a big deal about it all. Been staying pretty quiet about it imo, jus reposting the topic for exposure about my silencing and shadow-banning. I get it, I understand others views , perspectives, judgments and beliefs. I’m just hoping one day #nostr will one day accept me, and others like me. Even tho it seems some #nsfw #content creators don’t get silenced like I do. I’m not entirely sure is a nsfw thing anymore. Think it’s beyond that. Starting to think I should have separate accounts, but to be honest I really don’t have time for that. 😅 All want is to be able to be myself. Anyways, I won’t give up nor be discouraged. I’m just more quiet and trying to figure out how to move forward best, for my mind body and soul.

Here, we are the algo. Many independent minded people will create ways to keep communication free and open. I also see the mess on nostr. Can be crazy shit posted, not my cup of tea. Hopefully new clients and relays will solve this.

Semi, the real hell is people who go around policing content to preasure people to self-censor themselves. There’s no more damaging form of censorship than that.

I appreciate Amethysts method. It doesn't block anyone and only has a content warning. It does look account wide, though, instead of using a hashtag to determine content, which would definitely drop engagement.

I get a content warning on amythest no matter what I post tho. Weather it be a note or a pretty photo I took. Should be a way to filter the nsfw content when I tag on certain posts that’s are actually only nsfw which I know is controversial as my whole body apparently should be censored even if I’m not showing bits.

user should be able to toggle how these type of filters effect every piece of their experience. don't want your feed influenced by others, toggle. these should never affect another user unless they have the option to enable/disable. IMO

Yes, I was confused at first when I saw some reposts talking about excessive moderation, and yours was hidden. Most of your posts are not moderation worth, imo, especially since you have started to self censor. I have to wonder how hard it is to add a user controlled tag system for blocking. Users could add their own in, the client could parse for new options while browsing, and users change them in the settings. It's definitely abusable, but that's why npub blocking already exists...

Amethysts isn't a good way to moderate, but others have definitely done worse. Report buttons shouldn't exist here. It should be client controlled and tag based or relay moderated.
