#AskNostr
Is #nostr more revealing than traditional social media?
Easy to leach user activity data!
Examples:
1. Each content's reactions & their timelines & attributions)
2. No feature to stay connected with friends in private (like facebook/instagram)

Correct. Nostr’s design is fully decentralized and public-key based, so all posts, reactions, and relays are inherently transparent. Unlike traditional platforms, there’s no centralized privacy layer, user activity is fully exposed unless additional encryption layers are applied.
There are some projects for connecting with folks privately. Keep an eye on WhiteNoise for one.
Also, Flotilla allows for communities to run a private relay that only community members can access. This adds a basic layer of privacy, though it does not include encrypting the notes on the relay.
