Mark my words: this moment - the Fall of the Digital Berlin Wall - will be one for the history books. The initiating event was when they tried to take our circus (American TikTok), and as protest we found the most popular social apps in China, Russia, and the Arab world and joined them! And NOW there are American creators using language translation apps to connect with the non-“western” world and vice versa!! And it is the most wholesome collective social bonding moment I have ever seen in my entire life!! It’s quite literally the fall of the digital Berlin Wall. I did not have this on my 2025 bingo card, but I am so here for it!

Jessica, I don’t bother too much with many of the centralized apps anymore but I think you’re basically saying that even though there is a possibility that TikTok won’t be banned, the literal “damage” has already been done by and large. Am I right with that interpretation from your end?
Correct! This is the beginning of the end of federated divided censored online platforms. Now we seek a decentralized world - a “universe” instead of a “fediverse”!! So exciting!! They can’t unring the bell!!
The Internet has made the world flat and it has not changed. It has allowed ordinary people to break free from the ideological control of politicians. Technology has made the world freedom
