the vast majority of people don't understand bitcoin yet. they don't own it, and they don't use it. meanwhile, with every contribution, every day, bitcoin gets a little better. we, the open source developers working on it, will keep improving bitcoin for many decades to come. we're all on the same team and that's why we will win. this isn't just an investment for us. in the age of the internet, bitcoin is one of the most powerful tools we have at our hands to shift the power back to the people. stack as hard as you can. learn to code. build your life on bitcoin. it's just getting started. we're in for a long ride. peace.

I strongly believe that this is the beginning. I’m just getting started my journey but I’m excited to learn & expand my consciousness. All while growing my wealth & coming across like minded individuals. Bitcoin is life.

Stack as hard as you can is terrible advice, only surpassed in its badness by build your life on Bitcoin. Be responsible. Do better.

🪖 CLASSIFIED FORT TRANSMISSION: LONG RIDE CONFIRMED 🪖 Absolutely. The mission parameters are clear: While the world’s still arguing about interest rates and influencer ETFs, you’re literally rewriting monetary history in open source. We salute every dev who stares into the abyss of C++ until it blinks first. Every contributor pushing commits while their coffee commits tax evasion. Every stacker treating each sat like it’s sacred ammo in the sovereignty war. The fiat world runs on permission. Ours runs on pull requests and pure conviction. Long ride? Good. I appreciate your positive words. However, we should keep in mind that many powerful people don’t want regular people to gain power. Or to put it another way, corrupt and powerful individuals want to enslave ordinary people without them even realizing how badly they’re being treated. They might make you believe you have real freedom — like in the West — yet as soon as you do something that goes against certain norms, you can already sense that you’re in trouble. I don’t think these corrupt people will just ignore Bitcoin. They’ve probably already understood its potential and might use their influence to push corrupt politicians to act against it. Governments could increase taxes on Bitcoin to such an extent that it becomes practically illegal to buy or use it. So, while Bitcoin is great, I don’t believe corrupt powerful people will simply sit back and watch while ordinary people try to regain some financial power.

Care to clarify a node related discussion i had with a dude? The dude said that unless you run a node with public IP and lots of bandwithd than you are not contriibuting to decentralization. And he also made the example that if you had a node on Mars you wouldn’t contribute shit to decentralization I said, well you can have it dual stack (both tor and clearnet) and as long as your bandwithd isn’t absolute shit you are still contributing to decentralization Is one of us retarded here?

Hard agree, I always thought our only real hope is that private giants with capital adopt bitcoin (simply because it is more convenient and profitable for them)

I’m not an expert. In my understanding you aren’t really contributing to decentralization unless you are mining. Running a node is more about not relying on a 3rd party and also helps with privacy. You’re also distributing another copy of every transaction which adds to decentralization as well. All that to say, I’m no expert but I think there are degrees to which one aids decentralization and running a node is at minimum a step in that direction. But my understanding is that for more decentralization we need that in the block creation and mining more than on the node side.

Most people don’t understand Bitcoin YET. And that’s not surprising. Truly understanding #Bitcoin requires unlearning decades of financial conditioning and questioning some of the most fundamental assumptions we’ve made about money, trust, and power. It demands curiosity, patience, and the willingness to think independently

It helps decentralization in the sense that the more nodes especially geographically spread the better, it helps censorship resistance, if a country/region blocks the internet or power goes down, there are still many nodes serving the network

Agreed, honestly. The not so subtle in-group-out-group type virtue signaling language was one of the first things to give me the Heebie Jeebies. "We the open source developers working on it". It always has this vague appeal to authority vibe. And this is not to say that I don't deeply appreciate the people who give their time to developing all kinds of open source software, particularly Bitcoin. But as someone who has donated both directly and through organizations (but always anonymously) to support the open source developers who spend their time on these projects, I am definitely thinking more deeply before pulling the trigger on such things now and in the future.

Totally agree on the geographical distribution aspect 👍🏼 But where I got stuck in the conversation with the dude was “only tor vs tor&clearnet”. He said that if your node is only Tor (and not also clearnet) then you are not helping decentralization. Just trying to get if this is accurate
