Could also offer to ban zaps on accounts that are selling things and ensure only tips are allowed, maybe? Is there a chance something like this will appease them?

Have we learned nothing from past experiences? If we let them take an inch, they will take a mile! Their is no appeasement that will make them happy, this has been tried many times before and look where it got us.
I'm all for greater adoption, but not at the expense of sacrificing principles/ideals that the #nostr community holds dear.

I've sold plenty. Blockstream advertises plenty. Friends of mine sell salves, coffee mugs, t-shirts....ebooks, all manner of things. There's no central marketplace right now, but peer to peer sales happen plenty.
Just move to a web app. Otherwise there is no end to apple tyrany and their demands will only increase
