This whole situation with AWS US-East-1 is an interesting cybersecurity event, because even if those companies affected had solid security, now everyone knows which cloud provider those companies are dependent on and which networking/infrastructure points are their weakest link.

Yeah, but we all know that every time there is a major outage it is them or a BGP rule at cloudflare. So why put the store on the data center most famous for being unreliable?

The most beginner security training is the CIA triad, if 1 data center takes you down you failed security.
