That's going to be the case with any of them probably. They are viewing the entire web page source and modifying it before you view to remove ads. This is why it's a good idea to get a trusted & open source one. It looks like that one is fwiw.
On my phone the VPN I use does all the ad blocking.

If you use a VPN it probably has it built in. On mine it's labeled as tracking protection, but it blocks ads too, at the DNS level.
