I would recommend against both proton wallet and proton VPN. The other proton services are fine - they are private but not anonymous unless you are very careful about opsec.

What's wrong with Proton VPN besides the fact that VPNs require centralized trust?
Proton is good for privacy but not anonymity. Depending on your threat model, if you connect to Proton over VPN only, like I do, then using their VPN wouldn't make sense. They may not log your VPN usage, but they do log IP's and collect meta data for their other Proton services under the same account.
