Yeah that would be great. Loving likes is a vit weird, and I catch myself checking it a Lot, same with reposts. The hope for fame and all that bullshit.
If true value is sent, or someone wants to contact me, that's alright, I may read it, otherwise it's just a distraction

Yes, but who is sending likes from other clients, needs to be warned that our profiles doesn't allow to receive these events without a zap.
Oh and also to hide the amounts of followers that one has, thanks ๐๐ฝ
Would make more sense to have an option to follow privately.
This may not be achievable, at most, it can only be hidden on the client side.
But doesn't make sense, because people will still send likes and think we are seeing this.
There's no way around this, signing an event is everyone's right because nostr is decentralized and censorship-resistant. We can only choose not to see it.
Yes, but I mean some kind of nip where users could choose this kind of settings. So clients and relays will probably follow this nip.
It is possible to look forward to the emergence of such a relay.
Btw, @fiatjaf 's lockbox.fiatjaf.com and zapbox.fiatjaf.com are also quite interesting.
You can't stop someone from publishing a note, or tagging you in that note.
A "like" on Nostr is just another kind of note with your npub and the event ID tagged in it. There is absolutely nothing that can stop someone else from publishing that note, other than a relay that rejects kind 7 notes. However, that still just means you won't see the note if you are only reading from that relay. It still exists on other relays that did accept it.
