I swear I replace our LED bulbs that are supposed to LaSt FoREvEr AnD UsE No EneRGy more often than we replaced our incandescent bulbs. I legit think the shift to more expensive LEDs (which means they take way more energy to make, which means they are more wasteful, NOT efficient) was nothing but a big political grift to force people to buy bulbs with bigger margins that weren’t having the growth they needed. So they used “green energy” to pad their pockets. I swear there is no political action whatsoever that isn’t a racket. It is truly nothing but bootleggers and baptists. A marriage between the scammers and their fools and nothing more.

Planned obsolescence… go to t=?4m33s tldw: manufacturers put the current so high so that the LEDs burn out at the warranty period.
You start to see the grift everywhere when you open your eyes.

Beat me to it. Blue light wrecks our circadian rhythms and dopamine systems. Dumber and sicker citizens are easier to control.
MK Ultra shit. The mob learned blacking out the windows using alcohol and scanlty dressed women increases profits for casinos. The blue lit big tech world has just taken it everywhere.

I totally agree you but luckily I’ve only replaced my bulbs mostly once in 10 years
The blue light from the LED kills you faster also which is a bonus for the malthusians
Ok. You're not wrong. The engineering is a disaster that is overtaxing LED's to run at high temperatures and high temperatures are poisonous to electronic devices. (Also there a lot of FUD) That said, if you live in Dubai, you can purchase Phillips bulbs that are engineered to run cooler and last as long as the original claims.

Not to mention when you use incandescent bulbs during the winter months are you really “wasting energy” Maybe the science has changed again😳
I think you may be right. They generally seem way to sensitive to net line quality. Then some lighting products integrate the LEDs and aren't replaceable at all. Generally you do see nicer light design i grant them that.

Could be problem with electric compatibility. I haven't had to change my Led bulbs for 7 years. Not one.

To be fair LED bulbs are not all created equal. Some are really poorly designed without proper heatsinking and they die within a year unless they are not enclosed at all. The better ones are cooled properly and will last decades. I don't have anything against incandescent light bulbs though, particularly in cool climates.
Some do, some don't. Not necessarily according to price, but it's more likely that known brands like Philips and Osram (now Ledvance) are flicker-free, or close to it. (They also generally last longer.) I can see the worst offenders just sweeping my gaze across the room, but some people seem to be completely incapable of detecting it, even with tricks like waving a pen.
It's not. Incandescents are about 2% efficient. There are different efficiency converters though. A common technology is to rectify and (hopefully) smooth the mains voltage, then put it through a linear current regulator and then to a series string of LEDs with a voltage drop of just a bit less than the resulting voltage. The efficiency of this varies extremely with the applied voltage, the higher the voltage, the less efficient.
