Here in the south we eat “poke salad.” Made from the leaves of a young poke plant, which are boiled twice to break down the toxins. We stirfry the the detoxified leaves in a little bacon, grease and then throw in crumbled bacon, sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Follow any recipe you find VERY CAREFULLY, eating untoxified poke leaves will result in pain and sickness similar to eating green rhubarb.
