It’s not Americanism, it’s all over the place, US is just spearheading. I’ve read a report that Americans lead with number (~300k) of items per household worldwide and they beat the next position like 3 times - couldn’t find the study, but I guess the number of growing storage spaces is telling a lot. This bloat is visible everywhere - obesity, software, shit we don’t need all over the place. Bitcoin fixes that.

I don't subscribe to the Bitcoin fixes everything narrative, but I get your point. As a mindfulness based, tech/digital minimalist productivity coach, I know well that it's our perceived identity, needs, and habits that are the root cause. We're driven by core human needs for certainty, significance, and connection, but modern tech platforms have hijacked these natural drives with engineered dopamine loops. The real solution isn't a different currency - it's intentionally designing our environment and habits to align with our actual values, while being mindful of how digital tools shape our behavior and attention.
Both what you describe and bitcoin fix everything a little more. Everything exists and performs actions in the context of other things.
