Pick your future. I'd estimate, if things keep going the way they are, that CBDC's are 2-5 years out for most western countries. They will be launched for those dependent on the gov. at first (welfare/social security aka those who can't say no) and then moved into general use soon after. Progress will be faster if UBI (universal basic income) is implemented. Either way I'd estimate that cash is removed within 10-15 years. *obviously, times are guesstimates, just thinking out loud, but probably not that far off. To me, BRICS gives off a pretty decent bancor style vibe (Mandibles, if you haven't read it).
