I'd go with something more specific that gets you out of your comfort zone a bit. Like reading a classic in a genre you usually don't touch, picking up a recent award-winning book, trying an audiobook, or even putting aside a book you're not enjoying.
Putting aside a book I’m not enjoying is definitely out of my comfort zone. I’ll force myself to stick with it. Stuck with a 500ish page novel once thinking it would get better, it didn’t. I like the idea of reading a book in a genre you don’t normally read.
👀 my mom might be interested in this! I know she did number this year @Rosie . Good luck Mallory! I wish I could join the challenge but I would never come close lol.
Ooo @Rosie what was your reading challenge this year? @Vanessa feel free to customize the challenge for yourself and goals. Your life is super busy maybe reading 3 books is really challenging. Maybe you could plan to read a book or series with Mr. E. I’m a big fan of Chronicles of Narnia. Would be a great series to read with Mr. E.
Yeah that was my goal last year! For one I just did 2-4 pages per day until I got it done (I missed plenty of days). Sometimes you just aren't that into it that's cool too. Some books I just really love reading and they carry me to the end but others it's page by page. Go easy on yourself with it!
I normally read between 70-100 books a year but shifting to quality over quantity. Revenge of the Tipping Point, The Anarchist Teachings of Yeshua, The Anarchist Banker, Spontaneous Order were a few from last week. Now im reading Resistance Money and We Who Wrestle With God
I know exactly how you feel—it's something novel (pun intended) for me as well, but I do dread reading a book I don't enjoy, so it takes me longer to finish and ends up costing me much more in opportunity to read something better and more enjoyable. So I decided to really start doing it this year.
It’s a good idea to just put down books you’re not enjoying. There are more books I’d like to read than time available.

I set aside all the books I wanted to eventually read. Added up all the pages and divided to figure out how many pages a day I have to read to finish by Dec 31,2025
