I will admit that when I first got on Nostr, it was difficult for me to grasp what it was really about, But eventually I had to step back and ask myself whether recruiting people into @BitcoinMajlis through a telegram chat was actually sufficient for what we're trying to accomplish. It became obvious that something bigger was needed if we're serious about fulfilling our mission. Need to think beyond just building another online community or movement, more than just a subreddit. The scope has to be civilizational. It has to involve creating new ways of coordinating and relating to one another outside the constraints of fiat political + cultural frameworks. I'm afraid that if we continue building on centralized platforms, we're ultimately trapped inside the same cycle that produced the current condition in the first place (deterritorialization + reterritorialization, or endless disruption followed by being absorbed back into dominant system). I don't want all of this work we're doing to ultimately amount to building a fancier cage. We gotta get off telegram, like very soon. I am telling you that we have to take nostr as seriously as Bitcoin. This should give us the possibility of building parallel social+economic+cultural infrastructure that isn't owned by fiat people. I don't see any other tool that can help us meaningfully break out of that cycle. Need to actually use it and build on it and treat it as more than just another place to post.
