If you have tried some of the things on this list by @HODL and failed, take this into consideration: - Your conscious mind sees the things around you, obviously. - Not always obvious is that your subconscious mind processes these surroundings, as well. - You consciously make decisions informed powerfully by your subconscious. - Your subconscious is guiding your conscious mind to make decisions based on your environment. - You can use discipline to make a conscious decision that opposes the guidance of the subconscious. - Discipline is like a muscle and it gets tired. - If you intend to change your decisions by opposing your subconscious with your conscious, you will not win. You will get tired. You will fail. You will get tired of failing. - Use your conscious mind to change the environment that feeds your subconscious perceptions. This is the power of new friends, relocation, new job, etc. - The goal in these changes is to build the environment that makes your subconscious guidance align with your conscious decision-making goals. - Create the environment that makes the right decision the easiest decision. This will help you immensely. - The things that you know work against you, be quick to invite them out of your life. - Your emotions will tell you when something is amiss. Those emotional pangs in your core are the communication of your subconscious to your conscious mind. It’s a handy little tool to know when you need to fix something. Usually, when you ask yourself what it is that you need to fix, that is causing the pain, your first thought is the answer. Fix that. Even if that wasn’t it do it again and you will eventually get there with a bunch of things fixed. This realization alone can change your life. Be bold in your changes. You can always readjust if you over shot. Don’t be meek in making changes when your enjoyment of this one life is at stake. Enjoy.
